Howdy! I'm trying to grow a big watermelon this year. If anyone has spare melon seeds please e-mail me. I have things to trade like giant beans and sunflowers if you would like. Thanks, Tom

There was a fella at Canby last year who grew a watermelon that was 6.3 times heavier than your "Heavy" AG.....

That's a pretty big melon. My 30 wasn't heavy compared to my uncle's 157, it went 91.5% heavy, hard to believe isn't it? Thanks, Tom

Tom, what estimating method did your Uncle use that resulted in determining His 157 watermelon was 91.5% heavy? The Pumpkin tables are not good for Watermelons.

Len, It was his pumpkin that weighed 157. It was 151 inches OTT, which I believe is about 82 pounds. I don't think I measured it wrong. it had 8" walls near the stem, 5" in the middle and 4.5" at the blossom end. It was an open pollinated 354 Eiffler, which was a 991 Hunt x 723 Bobier. I believe that this pumpkin could have gotten much bigger, but the stem was stressed and it was open pollinated. I used your method by typing in the measurements on the AGGC site. I even double checked it to make sure it was right. Thanks, Tom
