Just a reminder to all, get to know the person you are trading with before you do actually trade. Check their background with other growers to make sure they are honest. Beware of certain growers, especially FLOH from Germany who has made a name across the alantic for cheating U.S> growers for top seeds like the coveted 1370 Rose. Be wise and beware!

I think its everyone's duty to expose a known seed cheat. That said, you certainly should be sure before you do also.

Trade seeds from outside the United States and ship them with out a phyto certificate. You are the one willing to take a gamble that the seed never makes it. Seeds coming from germany are redflagged for some reason.

Ask before you bash! Would have been easy for you to read this one: http://www.bigpumpkins.com/MsgBoard/ViewThread.asp?b=1&p=135438 The seeds I was offering returned to me in September and luckily had not been destroyed! They will all be send to the persons I traded with, on a SAFE way this time, okay?
BTW I can´t remember trading with you Mr. Victorygardener and you did not email me before bashing in public, right?

PS, we had discussions before about growers, seeds and reputation. You may read this: http://www.bigpumpkins.com/MsgBoard/ViewThread.asp?b=3&p=103112 I had bad luck sending seeds this year to the US, anyway they had not been destroyed and took their way return to sender after months. If you like to see envelopes not opened or destroyed, just returned, email me. Thanks again Mr. Victorygardener for caring about my reputation as a cheater.

And yes, there are cheaters and trade pretenders here on BP.com, but as long as no real loss or damage is caused, I prefer to keep my mouth shut about the names. http://www.bigpumpkins.com/MsgBoard/ViewThread.asp?b=1&p=113436

So others can unknowingly get screwed by a person known to be untruthful?

I think its ok to share our experiences with each other Name calling probably doesn't help Always give person chance to explain before goin public
I'm guessing someday when they invent a $2 over-the-counter DNA test kit, we'll find a lot of problems

I believe a person has a right to know who the cheat is, but it should be done privately. If a person knows for sure that the person isnt trustworthy then its up to that person to make the wise decision to trade or not to trade. I got screwed in a trade over the winter myself so I will be more careful with who I trade with.

I hate to disagree with an angel . . .but if you've e-mailed them privately and not got satisfaction I think its ok to share what happened You may be protecting others The person can defend themselves Its part of helping one another know who's trustworthy Problems brought to light have a better chance of being cleared up.

I do agree to expose a cheat but at least after an attempt to resolve the issue privately first Ya good idea... Let's call him a cheat before he gets to explain. Lets all judge him from only hearing one side of the story. I realize that he has explained himself now. So now judge! Be fair and keep it private, if something can't be resolved 'privately' then deal with it any way you want. Make an attempt though. As stated he has never contacted floh...No, I don't know floh, never talked to him, etc...

Reputations are hard to repair. Floh has been on this site for a few years and seems like a good guy. Give him the benefit until proven otherwise.

Im not bickering or fighting, all I was saying is unless you know for a fact that the person is a cheat and a fraud, dont accuse a person and then look like an ass later if it turns out to be false. And as for me not telling who the person was that cheated me, everyone knows who he is. And to Dakota Gary, I attempted to email this said person privately and didnt get any where, only then was his name told.

Being like one great big family here on Big Pumpkins.com I think if someone has cheated someone on a great seed and never made any attemt to correct it, should throw a red flag about the grower. After all, If someone is out ripping other growers off, I for one would love to know this person is a fake and is a fraud at trading.

Agreed Craig F. How 'bout them Red SOx. I would like to add that all of this bickering should be done privately but this post was in the best interest of alerting many growers.

Last year was my first year getting and trading seeds so if i forgot someone it was out of pure forgetfulness. I don't think i missed any one though. I think first year growers are also prone to forgetting a trade.

I understand people being angry about situations and talking about that, calling names or not. But Mr. Victorygardener is obviously not coming back here to explain what he has to do with the things we talk about. There´s a witch living a few streets away as other people told me, I don´t know anything about her, but come on now, let´s go burning that house down.

I believe that the alleged cheated and cheater should make every attempt to resolve a dispute privately. Hey, if they can't resolve it through e-mail, a phone call (even to another continent) may be worth the effort.
If they cannot resolve it privately then they should invite everyone to watch them "slug-it-out" in a BP chat room.
This is certainly not a "fair trial" but it may be eye opening.

Sounds like this site needs another topic added to it called pumpkin mediation and conflict resolution, and if that does not work take it to the pumpkin court topic , and then if that does not work let the pumpkin police handle it and put someone or both parties in pumpkin jail ......lol..

Maybe add a confict resolution room to the chat room for this winter so individuals who want to let off steam can do it on a forum away from all to see the carnage........lol

People, I'm knowing Ingo (floh), he had done a lot for the pumpking growing community here in Germany. I think he is honest, even I send him an envelop, I'm waiting for since February. LOL But I dont blame him, I never would blame a grower if a seed dont arrive. There are a lot of hurdles on the mail way, onward and back. You never know where the hole is. Just my 2 ct.

Werner, for a couple of weeks it looked I was completely out of seeds since we gave away so many starter packs to our local growers for the competition. But a good amount of them is back so everyone who asked will get them, including 1370 Rose x 1260 Weir and 996 Bobier x 1260 Weir from this year, promised! If you permanently leave home seeking for a new job along with all that trouble, it would had been better for me to take this year off from pumpkins. Sorry.

I think enough has been said and we can all draw our own conclusions wheter to trade with this grower or not to trade. No sense beating a dead horse. Thanks for the heads up. Again why I only like trading with people I trust or the grower themselves, this situation is becoming too common\ drew

I agree with Drew. This post is done. It is inappropriate to continue only to call some witches when we are all pumpkin growers who all have one thing in common: the love of growing giant pumpkins. It is not right to talk trash to other growers because we all help each other out to advance our sport. For victorygardener and floh please stop your bickering and then we can all go about our buisness and trade fairly in pursuit of growing a 1500 pounder in 2006!
