Hey,
I haven't got any seeds to trade, but you can check my gardenweb trade list for other plants you may want in exchange. http://members.gardenweb.com/members/klavier
I grew a 220 pounder this year off seeds from a 400 pound pumpkin, but I am looking for a better seeds than this. I did not even bother to save the seeds from this pumpkin, it was just too small.

I am not trying to be mean when I say this. But size of the pumpkin has nothing to do with the size of the parent. It is the genetics behind the seed, soil preparation, growers care of the plant, and a small amount of luck. The seeds from you plant probably have the potential to produce a 1200 lb pumpkin with the ideal conditions being met. Give it a month and there will be seed requests being put on this board. Then you just need to send a self addressed stamped bubble pack and a short note. You will have more seeds than you will ever be able to grow. Right now I would be working on my soil adding manure and as much organic matter as possible.
Grow them big,
Shannon

I am also not trying to be mean when I say this...(mean comes w/o trying..lol)..until you come to the realization that vine borers cannot be stopped "naturally" (as of this date) you are destined to grow one less than it could be. Sorry, but thats the truth. Those little pests are the bane of vine crops everywhere.

I just cannot escape borers. It seems every plant has its own type of borer. I grow hundreds of iris and the big problem facing the iris world is the iris borer. It absolutely devistates iris gardens. Kind of ironic, that now I get into pumpkins and I am again faced with borers. Ok, what are the other alternatives?
