As Southern said in your other post, love the enthusiasm.
I think I understand what your after, but I think your in search of the wrong seeds.
If you want the world record seed, you need the seed that grew the record and not from the record
Larry Checkons pumpkin was grown from his 1354. from 2004.
If I misunderstood your post, Please disregaurd

The best way to get seed is to contact the grower and politly ask for some. That means looking for a lot of addresses. Many of the top growers don't give them out because they get so many requests each year, sometimes hundreds. There will be auctions coming up and maybe some of these seeds will be available. Good luck.

Instead of grasping all over the place ( which all new growers did in their start...we know we did, admit it)focus on growers in your area. And being in Oregon you won't have to look very far. Contact these growers first, get to know them, ask them for tips & seeds and then spread out...hang out in chat rooms because on occassion they are there. Be patient, ask a few questions & it will work out.
I remember 2 young growers who took some heat early on ( by all of us) Mikkal & Clinton. Well I remember seeing Mikkal growing a 664 lb'r this year, and Clinton growing a 660 lb'r...
