HERE'S AN EXCERPT FROM A REPLY I MADE TO A RECENT POST JUST A FEW DOWN FROM THIS ONE, "HOLLOW SEEDS/VIABLE": "if you snip the rounded end of a seed with TOENAIL clippers and break away the seed coat from that end for a ways, you can determine how full the seed is also; it just cosmetically wrecks the seed a little, lol..."
IF YOU break open one or two of your seeds that you think is good, and there is obviously a pair of little seed leaves in there, seeds that are SIMILAR to it in thickness and "heft" will also be potentially viable. seed SIZE itself does not matter, but it sure is neat to plant one that is really huge! but, size does not matter, nor does INITIAL plant size. these are JUST two of hundreds of characteristics, neither of which are really important---eric
