For all the newbies out there: What "room" on the chatroom site will the auction be held? Do you type in your bid amount when the lot gets listed? Is there a count down when the auctioned lot is about to close? If you have a moment to explain how this works that would be great for some of us. Thanks everyone for so much help. It is always appreciated.

You cant miss the room :0) it will be the one with everyone in it. It is normally labeled which groups auction it is.
There are a few rules. No chattering with other growers. No pulling out, once bid is done.
The way it works is the Lot # is put up. Such as Lot # 1 is the 846 Calai.
Then it is open for bidding
I bid $200. So I type $200 Shannon Engel on my 1st bid
It will go until once, twice, sold to the highest bidder.
The highest bidder then emails the coordinator.

I am not speaking for th CT auction group, but, this is how most seed auctions work that I have been to. The room will be announced NLT tomorrow, it will be obvious with the amount of people in it. The auction will go something like this. They will anounce what lot is next, at that time you will state what lot you are bidding on and the dollar amount. Something like, Lot 1, $10. After a certain amount of time, the lead will say something like, going once, going twice, and if he/she gets to gone before another bid is made, then the lot is won by the highest bidder. Pretty straight forward, I do not think you will have any problems, unless you are on a dial up modem....LOL

We like to keep a fast paced auction so you can expect Dave & I to call & close the bidding quickly as we have in the past. Nodding out in front of the computer on a weeknight isn't our idea of a stimulating auction! LOL

Ken has been very busy & hasn't assigned us a "room" yet.
