Hello all a friend and myself are tired of getting 40-80 pound (store bought seed )pumpkins. Mail order catalogs sound like a long shot We would at least like to try for 400 pounds or more.One other thing is would they do well in Ohio where we live. Thanks to advice from this site that some of you may have seed to give us that would be a lot better.If anyone could Please help us out we would be most grateful Thanks in advance so much for all help!!

Thank you for the quick reply,MontyJ,Alex,and John I will email you shortly .What is the envelope size and return postage is normaly needed?One other question do all of your pumpkins have names? Don't completely understand this I am sure we will later on.If anyone else would like to help out us newbies with seed we would like to thank you and thanks again for the quick response.

night, I think 5 x 9 bubble envelopes is what most people use. 60 cents used to be enough to get a fair amount of seeds thru the postal system. Might want to up it a little with the recent rate increase. Hope this helps. The pumpkin name goes something like this... 781.5 Frantz 05
781.5 shows weight, Name is the last name of the grower of the fruit the seeds came from, 05 means the fruit was grown in 2005 sometimes other letter sequences are included...est. = estimage dmg = damaged uow = unofficial weight. sq = squash...sometimes a * is used to notate squash. If there is an unexplained number on the packet it is the number of seeds in there.
