On March 4th, those of us who are not going to Niagara will participating in the third annual Stunner no Niagara seed swap.
In Bills absence, and with his permission, I will be conducting it here in the seed swappers room.
This is how it works:
Email me a list of seeds that you want to swap,
when we call your name, you list your seeds
everyone has 3 mins to make offers
at the end of the 3 mins, you must make your choice on who you are going to swap with.
ALL SEEDS MUST BE SWAPPED!

. . .now would this officially make us "losers"?
or are there a lot of cool people not going?

Some people just can't afford to go. That's life, I don't think it makes me a loser.

Why Losers? This was an awesome way to pass time last year and should be fun this year too, I have already recieved a bunch of email listing decent seeds to swap.

Can you refuse all offers if feel the trade is not fair?

No, I have found that the trades are more than fair.

As an example, I have picked up an 869 Calai, a 582 Hester and an 1180 Daletas in the last couple of years at swap night.

All lots offered must be traded, so what we always suggest is if you don't want to part with them, do not offer them, because they will change hands.

I'd like to thank Tom for keeping up the tradition while I make my first trek to the conference. This had kinda become a tradition and I'm happy to know it won't die. I'm gonna try to check in from the conference.

You don't have to risk any seeds, just show up and if you see something you like, offer a trade.
I'm pretty sure thats how it works.

Mr.D&(Ed) Sounds like ya didnt send out enough bubblies...LOL Just kiddin...Also curious...B(Tom), is TM's idea a legitimate way to participate, or do you have to pre-register with a list of seeds to trade? Being a nu-B and sorta slow at times, the guidelines seem a little vague...if I pre-register a list of seeds I offer for trade, when my list comes up, my whole list must be traded for one of the offers??? All help appreciated, as I think this could be a real hoot!!! Peace, Wayne

Wayne:
In the past organizers wanted you to list a seed or seeds you wanted to trade at 1 time, & then other people would get a turn, then, asuming there is still time that night, you can have another turn to list 1 or more seeds you have to trade, & so on. The purpose of emailing in a list, is so Tom can organize the trading somewhat.
If you aren't 1 of the "listers", you can still participate by offering them a trade, but obviously, it's up to the "listers" to decide which trade offer they want to except. I hope this helps explain the set-up some.
I participated last yr., & it was fun!

OK FOLKS, please lets not make this difficult or complicated!
SIMPLE AS THIS - ITS ALMOST THOUGHTLESS!
You send me a list of seeds you would like to trade 1 - however many you want to.
There is no I'M NOT GOING TO SWAP, IF YOU PUT THEM UP YOU SWAP!
THIS IS MEANT TO BE FUN -
I arrange the list according to when you send me a list, you get put in queue.
LAST YEAR THIS WAS A TON OF FUN
people have 3 mins to make offers, after that time YOU MUST DECIDE WHO YOU ARE SWAPPING WITH.
ALL SEEDS MUST BE SWAPPED
IF YOU PUT UP A WORLD RECORD SEED, so be it.
Last year a bunch of really nice seeds were offered, those who had lots of decent seeds swapped them away.

WAYNE- There is nothing vague about it, those are the rules.
Lets not Muck up a tradition folks.
THIS IS MADE TO BE FUN!

(Tom)...no intentions of mucking anything up, just trying to learn the rules...IE if my list of seeds is lot #8 and hasn't been posted yet...can I offer them for trade for lot #3? See what I mean? Can I trade the seed lot that I send you for a lot that is posted before my set comes up? Peace, Wayne

Tom, explain that one more time, you say that you send your entire seed collection to you US postal or UPS, then you list them in alphabetical order by using the second letter in the name od the seed, we then call you by phone(collect) when our seeds are ready to be traded,,,,,, ,,,,,,,Now say that again Tom,,,

The Losers are we European Growers, due to custom rules we cannot send seeds back to the States.
But, even it will be 2 a clock AM here, some of us will be on the screen that night.

I don't think anyone sends seeds to Tom. You email him what you want to trade. Tom will list the trades in order, according to the dates and times on the email that get sent to him. Once the trades are made, it is up to the two traders to make arrangements and send the seeds. Tom will just work to keep order and make sure people follow the rules.

Tom, am I right or am I confused?

sees never touch my hands, you send me a list in writing, i set up the swap order and hit the timer after 3 mins, you choose who you are swapping with and you send seeds to the swapper.
Wayne,my suggestion is to watch a few rounds.
