Hi. If you have one, I'd like it. Its going to be treated like a queen in my patch. You are going to regret trading it to me because of what it could have done in your own patch. haha. You'll be able to tell your friends and family "i sent him the seed that grew that pumpkin" Just think of the honor that carries. If you have two, hang on to one and send me the other. Then bask in the glory next winter when the seed sells for $1000 in auction, its price ultra-over-inflated due to its stellar performance in my patch. If my satire has convinced you to part with one, email me and we'll talk.

Joe
Thanks for the interest in one of our seeds. A good friend of mine told me of your post so I had to take a look. Needless to say I got a kick out of it!. Rather than trade for one why don't you give me your name and address or a way to contact you. I'd be more than happy to send one your way.

What's the 1334 needed for? Are you out of 501 Beachy's? :0)

It looked like everyone from the state has had a smart comment Joe. I did not wont to be left out. I think the 582.5 is still the way to go!

Hey Clancy- As for Something Big from the East! If I remember correctly-
#1 GPC Cantalope 2005- 37.5#
#2 GPC Cantalope 2005- 33#
#2 Nekoosa/ New State Record Watermelon- 196#
#4 Nekoosa Pumpkin- New Personal Record(beats yours)- 915#
This I would consider coming BIG from the EAST and I was very happy with it.LOL
As for the boys up top teasing each other like school kids, I would be worried about what Randoo brings next year! And the Bancroft bunch is not far behind!! Then there is The Great "Shy" from the South as my Dark Horse for 2006.

Hey Chuck- I know you can grow big melons...what I was saying is... it's your turn to win with a pumpkin !!!!!
Your due to pop "THE" big one !!!
By the way...915# don't beat 1049#...LOL..all in good fun.
As for Randoo and "Shy"....I have been keeping a eye on them, they both have what it takes...as well as the Bancroft bunch.
If you have any spare melon seeds bring them on the 1st.

Clarence,

You Northern yankees better watch out for us Southern boys this year. George Poirier, the gentleman who won the Stoughton contest is getting much more serious and has better seeds. Dave Creuziger is making a comeback. Russ Stokes from Burlington is growing a bunch. And yours truly has a nice new patch and secrets from Niagra. Should be a fun Summer. :)

Oy...looks like there's a pretty stiff WI contingent building up here. Chuckles, calculate this- plenty of 501's in my stash, 1334 is icing on the cake...hehe. Clarence...while you and Shannon are comparing gourd lengths, Im going to be calling a repair shop cuz the struts on my truck have buckled under all that weight. And Im banking on the greenhouse effect to bake you southern boys so all your left with is some unsalted pumpkin seeds. Game on friends.

Gordon...thanks for the offer buddy, glad to hear Utah is supporting the better half of Wisconsin. Oooooooo that one stung a bit, didnt it?!

Hey hey.....1186 (and 1042, 917) is big and I can boast a little C-Dog...was it a fluke? maybe. Great weather really helped, but yet the hot dry hurt others...so, I did something right. clarence...i hope you get back in the swing of things...its just not the same without ya. Its fun to visit your patch during the summer.

dont forget the new comer to WI. Mr. Mike Golat...growing these things in Altoona, WI. I think he was in that huge swath of snow that blanketted west and NW Wi a few days ago. Welcome to wonderful, cold, snowy, WI.

What a great post!! Wi is going to do something big this year...i can feel it.

OH!!!! Someone wants to rumble...Well I would talk smart but I am waiting for water yet. Casey if we ever go to Niagara in a Mini Van again Joe gets to sleep on the floor.
Sad thing is Mike Golat is not growing this year. He doesn't have the area at his new place. I know someone that will have space available for him to grow though if he wishes.

Mike has to grow....gotta try...he is going to be bored over the summer...but, i guess they will have lots of work around the house getting it the way they want.

Mark...we missed ya last year at nekoosa as well. One of these days, all of us will have something big and it will be a close finish for the top 10 places!!! how sweet would that be...

yes, joe gets the floor...i agree. LOL

Casey,

All of my plants died last year. Cucumber beetles did me in. So I stayed down here and supported the Stoughton Weigh-off. Much closer to home. Yes, I think Wisconsin will do well this year. It seems like every year I say "wait till next year" LOL
