I'm thinking about buying one for next years patch and I wondered if anyone grew it last year and what the result was? When I think about the perfect pumpkin, it's the 1027Beachy that comes to mind.

Not many were grown last year. The 1046 Richards was a decent looking offspring from what I am told. I didnt see it in person. The color was good. The 1027's we planted wouldnt set fruit like 75% of our plants last year, so they were pulled. Its going to get another try this year from me because the only plant I know of that had a fruit on it produced a 1046.
