I'm a teacher, and we're on Spring Break this week. I've got a little more time than normal on my hands. I made my 2006 seed choices last night, so I'm going to offer to trade a few good seeds that won't make it into my garden this year. Hopefully one of you can use some of them. I'll choose the best offer on FRIDAY EVENING.
Each of these seeds is directly from the grower, with the exception of the 753 Pappas which came from the seedoutlet.com. All but the 582 Hester are in their original envelopes, unopened. The 582 came to me from Brett, labeled and numbered along with a number of other seeds, all in one pack.
1-582 Hester 01 940 Mombert X 1026 Holland
1-1458 Whittier 03 582 Hester X 695 Handy
2-1253 Sperry 04 1068 Wallace X 1180 Daletas
2-1157.5 Daletas 04 961 Daletas X 723 Bobier
1-1123 Daletas 04 1236 Eaton X 846 Calai
2-1082 Curry 03 756 Ford X 805 Pukos
1-977 Hester 03 846 Calai X 898 Knauss
2-753 Pappas 03 898 Kanauss X self (+32.27%)

My inbox is crowded with offers for the 1253 Sperry. I can't trade the 1253's individually, as I listed them as part of this "lot". I didn't realize the 1253 was so sought after. Several people have asked what I'm interested in etc.
I am looking for seeds that produce HEAVY offspring. I don't particularly like orange and pretty. I know it goes against the grain for many growers, but I like ugly and heavy. I also don't need any squash seeds.
The seed I have been looking for with no success to date, is the 500 Beauchemin.
Thanks, and happy bidding.

i think you can do whatever YOU want in this free country. plenty of times someone has backed out of trading a seed or two on here because they found out that what they had offered was a little hotter than they had thought at first.
so, by splitting them up a bit you could make four more growers happy, and isn't that the goal here? lol--- MY nickel's worth......

Pumpkinpal:
I appreciate your comments. I understand what you are saying. I'm sure I would benefit much more if I just traded the seeds seperately. Possibly other growers would also benefit more too.
There is one problem with stopping the "auction" and trading the seeds seperately. I value my reputation much more than I value all the pumpkin seeds I will ever have. So, since I said I would trade all these seeds as one "lot", to the best offer posted by Friday evening, that is what I will do, and I'll do it with a smile on my face, happy with whatever the best offer is.

"Hopefully one of you can use some of them. I'll choose the best offer on..." mmm'kay, from these words one COULD derive that you were trading them all at once, but they COULD have been type-os to a hopeful guy like me, lol! good luck with what you get, like the 500 Beauchemin! eric

I see what you mean about the wording of my original post Pumpkinpal. Next time I'll choose my words more carefully, to try to avoid confusion.
The "auction" for these seeds will end on FRIDAY (tomorrow)at 9:30 PM Mountain time (11:30 PM Eastern). I continue to get a number of private e-mails with offers, so we'll see if anyone wants to make a public offer, as I'm only considering offers posted here.
