What is the genetic background of this seed? I have a 503 that is the 898 remake from Jim, but I see a lot of people clamoring over the 500. Just curious.

500 Beauchemin = 1074 Beauchemin x 898 Knauss
1074 Beauchemin = 898 Knauss x 790 Daletas

Jim's 1314 that it grew last year was a sound shape, heavy OTC, and I think pretty solid. It was heavy to lift at Topsfield at least. There were 15 other people lifting it, but we know who was carrying an extra 3-400 lb.! LOL! The 1314's cross is 500 X 898, a lot of 898! I only know of a couple people growing it this year, it should be great. AleX Noel.

I am growing the 500 this year and am very excited about it. I am planning to cross with the 869 Calai. Should be an interesting cross.

That could be a great cross! If you're interested in color, the 1314 was lacking that, the 869.5 could really help. AleX.
