Hello everyone. This is my first trip to this site, and my first attempt at growing pumpkins. My first and only one this year was a whooping 30#. I now believe my true passion is growing one of your "monsters". My parents have a 300 acre unused dairy farm...so all I need, is for one of you seasoned growers to "plant me"(if you will)in the right direction, mainly with SEEDS and planting conditions. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

p.s. My wife truely believes that I am crazy now.

Varget,

If your wife thinks you are crazy now, just wait until she catches you in the garden at 5:00 a.m. pollinating a female blossom. It seems like all the growers go on garden patrol morning and evening all during the growing season. Welcome and good luck. I an still a rookie, but everyone says to pick up a copy of "How to Grow World Class Gaint Pumpkins" .. the original and Volume II. It has all kinds of instructions for soil prep, fertilization, resources etc
