Howdy folks,
I am new to the site and my daughter Emma and i are growing our first pumpkins this year. I got some AG seeds from a nursery online, but I was wondering if anyone had one with a known pedigree for us to try. We are in Northern Cal and we are not planning attending any competition, we are just growing for fun.
Let me know if anyone has a spare seed or two and we can work something out.
thanks,
Matt

There is a grower that lives not to far from you. I will see if he has any extra plants.

Emma It is getting very late to start pumpkin seeds, especially if you have to wait for a few days to get them in the mail. If you can get a plant already started this is your best bet. Plant the ones you have for now. There are lots of folks here that will send you free seeds. Make sure you ask again in the fall!

It is late for growing for competition but not for fun. You could still probably end up with something fairly big. Send me your address and I'll send you a couple. Then, like countykid said, in the fall there will be a lot of growers with seeds available. You can start them earlier and really get them going.

Thank you everyone for your generous responses. I have arranged for some seeds. Thanks too for your concerns. I am not growing for any competition (other than the one with my brother) and I am just growing to impress my 2 1/2 year old daughter. I know I am late and I am learing fast how to do this right.
Thanks again- follow my progress on the diary I am keeping on this site.
