Hi all, I'm brand new here but already planning for next season, that will be my first real season.
I was wondering if there are any pumpkin growers from Sweden here that I could send a stamped envelope to for seeds. I'm practicing germinating with store bought AG:s but figured a "real" seed would give me a better chance to get some size...
Seems loads of you guys and gals live in the states, and its a little hard for me to obtain USA-stamps to send to you:)Maybe we could figure something out - for if I understand right seed exchange season is a few months away.
Take care (and may winter pass fast so it will be spring soon).

Ulf. When requesting or trading seeds from the USA & Canada the usual deal is to include a few US or Canadian $'s in with your Self Addressed Bubble Envelope to cover the cost of Air Mail Postage of the Seeds to you. When November/December arrives i am sure you will get responses to your Seed requests and when you do you can then do 'The Deals' via private Email. Another good way to obtain great Seeds is to join some of the Growers Clubs in the USA & the GVGO in Canada. Although us Europeans cannot enter the Club Weigh-Off's we do benefit by receiving Newsletters, Membership Seed Packages and several other benefits such as special Membership to the AGGC Genetic data Base.

The GVGO Membership includes the AGGC Special Membership Access,(as does the NYSGPGA)and the newly released Club Newsletter has 18 Pages with all pictures in Colour and some very interesting information on backfeeding AG Plants, How to grow Giant Cabages etc etc.

Regards
Mike

and, by all means, keep an eye on what Sweden-Gustavsson
does on his diary, from Sweden as well.
this guy does one plant a year by the looks of it and
gets reliably over 1 thousand pounds in the process;
he could even be right up the road from you, lol---eric g

You made it! Welcome at last!

Here is Gustavsson's diary:

There are 2 other growers in Sweden that are also keeping diaries here at BP.

Maybe you can all gety topgether in the winter with some of the US or Canadian clubs. Our Grower's club ($20 US per year) includes a free seed swap. We would have to work some sort of plan to combine the seeds but it would be a lot of fun.

Hehe, thanks for the welcome. Gustafsson lives down south, apprx 1 000 km down south fromme I think. So not quite down the road, but almost:)

Yeah I'm planning to join a growers club this winter - looks like fun. I will be home with our kid (4 months tomorrow) from New Years to end of august - so hopefully I will get loads of time for the pumpkins as well...
