I've started drying seeds from a 3lb 5oz Big Zac tomato.Lots to give away.I've been told that about 25% of second generation plants won't produce fruit but for what it's worth...email me if you would like some...tomatoe made a nice spaghetti for two.

Mike whoever told you that doesn't know what they are talking about. Big Zac is an F1 hybrid. By saving seeds and planting them you would be planting F2 seeds. All of the F2 plants should produce fruit. It's not likely that they will get as big as a Big Zac F1. Some will some won't. No way to predict how many will or won't.

Thanks for the info Doug.I'm going to try a few seeds, compare results with F1's to be planted next year. Most of the tomatoes on my Big Zac plants the last few years have been in the 1 - 2.5 lb range, even with limiting plants to a couple of tomatoes each. Then I got lucky. Two big ones on one plant.
