Hey folks, I am in need of some heat resistant plants for next year. If we see another 15 days over 110 like this year, I am going to need some asbestos/pumpkin crosses. I have a few seeds given to me this season that i have no idea about, but would be willing to trade for a known heat-loving plant.

I have a 950 Boyton, I've heard it is heat resistant. I'm not sure whats done well in your area but some big pumpkins have come out of California, maybe gettin some seeds from big California pumpkins is the way to go.

Might want to shoot Roger a email. Roger had some plants that did real well in the heat this year.

Matt-
I'm growing in Texas (where it is excrutiatingly hot) and had great luck with the 1011 Beachy. I was able to grow one to 657 lbs on that plant, and would be happy to send a few of my seeds your way. Feel free to shoot me and email if you're interested.

Matt,
No seed is 100% guaranteed to do well in high heat, but there are seeds that have a much higher ratio of being very heat tolerant. The 950 boyton is good usually, my 861 Fredricks (950 x 731) has done well in high heat too. THis year my fruit off of the 1180 went 18% heavy in consistant temps over 100 degrees. Of course I grow with a micro sprinkler over my plant for cooling and hopefully you have a cooling system too. Email me if you would like any of my seeds. Good luck, Jimmy

Matt- I had some of Joel Hollands 500+ lb seeds. One of those plants had 30 plus females and didn't wilt in 115 F heat. I haven't harvested them yet but, if you want some, email me and we'll get the ball rollin'. (Modesto, CA) -Kevin...kevinalmo@hotmail.com
