I would love to try my hand at growing a "big one" here in South Africa. I have looked around the web and there seems no reference to any activity in this part of the world. Can anybody help?

chris,,,,i have an article at home that came from one of the nepga newsletter about someone who grows in, i believe, south africa. i'll look for it and get back to you on his name, and where he lives. if i remember the story correctly, he had problems with baboons! but i think i would take those over squash vine borers any day!

I also conversed with a gentleman from S Africa named Goeff Dunn....Three Rivers,S.Africa I believe.He grew a 418Andrews98 seed in 1999 along with a few others. I believe he grew last year too.E-mail me private if your interested and I'll send you the email address he used in 1999........Glenn A.
