I was reading old posts (most on this topic are several years old) and was wondering as to the current state of seed exchange between countries. It seems that the seeds were often stopped at customs and sometimes returned to sender and sometimes opened, inspected and sent onwards.

I know I need to send money with my SASBE instead of stamps, but will they get here? Should the sender indicate "Clean Pumpkin Seeds" on the outside of the envelope so that customs will let them through?

Maybe this topic hasn't been discussed much lately as customs has relaxed and seeds go across without an issue, but wanted to be sure that (a) I send enough money to cover postage and handling and (b) that I will actually get them.

Thanks

I have been sending 75 bubbles to the US per year for the last two years and all have arrived in great shape with no customs issues. US stamps don't work in Canada so I usually ask for $2 to cover postage. I usually guarentee any of my own seeds. If they get intercepted I will replace them free of charge.
Now, I always sweat when there is a valuable seed to go and I have sent them threw a "mule" to make sure they get there.
As far as seed coming into Canada, It is a non issue, there are no restrictions, you should do a customs declaration and mark "pumpkin seeds, gift, no value"!
