I was noticing this year that when we cut open our pumpkins that some had deep splits working their way from the inside of the pumpkin to the outside. None of these pumpkins split on us all the way through but I could see how it could easily happen. I was wondering if growers keep track of inner splits. Could this be an indication of possible trouble with the offspring or bad splits if the pumpkin had grown larger? or do most pumpkins have these inner splits and it is nothing to worry about?

If you are talking about the 1233 Reiss, I had the same thing, it appeared to be in line with a mild dill ring, this i believe is what leads to a lot of splits. I am going to re-post this on the general page.
