this may seem to be posted in the wrong place but its a follow up to... http://www.bigpumpkins.com/msgboard/ViewThread.asp?b=1&p=179481
I'm looking for a place to acquire a number of small zip lock bags. maybe 2" x 3" to hold individual pumpkin seeds or maybe 2 seeds at a time so they can be easily inspected by APHIS. If this actually works we all may have a working method to mail pumpkin seeds into the US. I have the permit and all I need to do is see if it will work. (No Phyto cert required.)

I buy mine from the dollar store in the crafts section. I would bet the crafts section in most big box stores would also carry them.

Bart, When I sent my seeds out the other day the post office lady told me that sending seeds changed a little , she said as long as they are dry and not in dirt that seeds shouldnt be a problem sending out of the country.
I sent mine to Germany, Ireland, Canada, and England, she told me no problem. I hope shes right, lol

Brooks The problem isn't getting the seeds out of US, it getting them in. The US Dept of Ag. has very strict rules on them entering. Most other country have a relaxed rule when it comes to personal portions of seed. (Quantities under 1/2 pound)

For Canadian Growers.
I've sent over 40 BP into the US this year without losing one. Just make sure you use the white small package labels & you shouldn't have a problem. Don't use the word "SEEDS" on it anywhere or your just asking for trouble. I write "Giant Pumpkin Growing Supplies" on the label. Works for me.
Also, good news from Canada Post. They have just added a new rate for BP if it's under 500 gm & will fit through the mail slot. It's now only $2 compared to the $4-5 I was paying in November. So, if anyone is sending me a BP, just include $2, instead of the $4 I mentioned earlier. Hope this helps. Merry Christmas.

G.......whoever would have thought there would be so many giant pumpkin growers at your jobsite. I've heard you say many times "I could grow pumpkins there...".
