I am sending my buddy Chad (Happy Gilmore as the Lawman calls him) a 670 Daigle for him to grow this year in his patch (The Gilmores have several hundred acres of prime BC land) so we are looking for the best and most logical seed to share with Chad and this potential cross.

We will, or course, share all the resulting seeds with associated clubs, fund raising groups, friends, family and all the rest of us.

What would be a great cross that has not been done yet?? If you have the other seed to make this happen, let us know right here or email us at giantpumpkins@shaw.ca

I have a 896.5 Calai x 1370 Rose cross from this year ... I think that would be a great cross for your 670 ... but it was only a 318 est. pumpkin (with very few seeds) so I'm not sure if people would be interested in it because of that.

Did I ever mention that Glenn Dixon is my new best friend.

He just phones me up one day and says:
"You should try a 670 Daigle next year."
And I said
"Oh yeah I've got 7 or 8 of them and I'll just pop one or two in the ground."
And he says
"No I'm serious I've got one and you can have it."
And I said
"Your full of crap"
And he said
"Nope I'm not, I'll send it up to ya"
Than I got weak in the knees, fell and hit my head on my fax machine busted that damn thing into 2 peices which then shorted out and electrocuted my dog.... no now I'm full of crap, I get carried away sometimes. But the rest is true. Glenn Dixon just out of the blue gave me a 670 Daigle, what a guy.

Merry Christmas Glenn

What might be considered "logical" for Chad? With a better understanding of the logical concern, I might be in a position to offer a donation that subscribes to the "best" portion of the equation.

Chad , that 670 Daigle is one beautiful seed . It's too bad Mr. Daigle does not have a computer to see all the excitment that his 670 brings. I grew a nice dark "ORANGE" 709 pound beauty from it this summer, even with several flooding washouts. AL B. I'd love to grow it again....

I don't have a 1068, but if there's something else you had in mind, just ask & I'll see if I have it.

Glenn, thats awesome!
For that gesture...I offer up my only 1233.5 Reiss seed.

I don't think a 670 X 1233.5 has been done. I know there is a reverse of that though.

If thats what your looking for, shoot me an e-mail

Thanks to all, looking forward to what Chad can do in his super soil in the rich Pemberton Valley (north of Whistler B.C.) where he professional grows other crops and farms.

I can't think of a better person to share with and am looking forward to a super-cross being done.

the 1068 x 670 is a cross we are pretty sure we will do this year.
a local grower buddy is growing the 670 so we will probably just swap some pollon.
we will do the 1068 x 670 and he will do the 670 x 1068.
kinda like a buy one get one free deal. which is what seed/pollon sharing is all about.plus it allows you and your club members buds to make more interesting crosses.
