Beet (stellern)

I originally planned to give these seeds away to celebrate Christmas Eve, but I ended up with the Flu, and couldn't muster the energy. That came after we got snowed out of our Disneyworld trip two days earlier. Obviously I've got unexpected extra time on my hands!

After Eddy graciously awarded me one of the seeds I've been looking for, I thought I have to follow through and give away something as well. TWO 125 Wolf seeds to the first person who is willing to put the time in to find the answer to all seven of the following questions, and post the answers here. (The answers to all but the bonus question can be found on this site somewhere)
1. What seed is Eddy so graciously giving me?
2. What seed didn't germinate for me this season (2006)
3. What seed grew the 649 Hoffman 2006?
4. What % light did my 413 pound pumpkin weigh this year?
5. Who holds the Wyoming State Record for heaviest pumpkin?
6. Is he taller or shorter than me?
7. What school am I a PE teacher and coach at? (the blurry
photo makes this a little difficult)

*Bonus Question (not part of the 125 Wolf contest) first correct answer receives a 1301 Eaton seed: What MONTH AND WHAT YEAR did I start coaching at my school. (It's the only teaching/coaching job I've had)
Contest ends at 9:00 PM Mountain time Wed. 12/27.
Good Luck

Apparently one 1301 Eaton isn't enough motivation to draw out more than one guess on the Bonus question. To try to motivate a few more guesses, I'll add a wide assortment of Eaton seeds to the pot. All but one of the 1301 Eatons is directly from Al.

For the closest guess to the month and year I started coaching at Johnson Junior High:

3 - 1301 Eatons
1 - 1236 Eaton
numerous 1132, 930, 753 and 741 Eaton seeds.

Contest will end at 9:00 Mountain, or about six hours from now.

PS - night - your answers to the 125 Wolf contest are correct. Send me an e-mail, and I'll get your seeds in the mail tonight. 4:28 A.M. Nice.

Interesting bonus question... try as I might I couldnt find the month and year when you started. All I found despite what others have posted is University of Wyoming Professor since at least 1973. One page shows 1969 after listing the 1973 date. I am not sure how to read that. A promotion perhaps? Oh well I will guess october 1969.

I wondered how long it would take for someone to notice that?? John Stellern Of University of Wyoming is listed as having earned a BA in 1955. Way too old to be the guy in the pics. I couldn't find you on any search engine except here. So I thought it would be fun to mess with people. LOL

I've got to agree with Unkadan. Never thought I would know that much about some junior high school in Cheyenne, Wy! More useless knowledge in my head!

Thanks for participating. The bonus contest didn't turn out exactly as I envisioned it last night at midnight. I actually thought people would just look at my growers diary, and estimate how old I was (I'm 43), and formulate a guess for how long I'd been coaching. Anyway, here are the winners:

Night from Ohio wins the 125 Wolf seed, plus other Wolf seeds.

Jon N. wins the Eaton seeds. You were exactly correct. I started coaching at Johnson in August of 1987.

Night and Jon N, please e-mail me your addresses, and I'll get the seeds in the mail tonight. We are in for another blizzard starting tomorrow. Who knows when we'll get mail in or out again after Thursday.

either one would have been right Dr. He said the closest one wins. And nobody else was closer, June of 87' would have won just as aug 87' So, we can take the first guess if you want.
