Have been looking through many online seed sites and it is very difficult to know which direction to go. If possible, I am looking for seed ready to stand up to the hot climate of West Texas. I am in competition with my father so the bigger the better.

Hi semi-arid! I'm growing in Texas also, glad to see more growers in the area! I would be happy to send some seeds from the pumpkin that I grew last year if you are interested. It was actually the new Texas State Record. Just send me an email jmccune74@aol.com. You can check out my growers diary from last season if you are interested.

Beachys 998 is sussposed to tolerate heat fairly well. You can get one at Beachy seeds.
