And more available in a seed raffle, here is the details!
My name is Alexandra Rockwell, my father is Rocky Rockwell. My senior project involves donations to the Room to Read Organization. Room to Read is an organization dedicated to changing the world's illiteracy problems. For more information go to www.roomtoread.org.
Several weeks ago I wrote to some of the best growers in the world asking for seed donations. The response was tremendous (according to my dad!). I would like to personally thank Ron and Dick Wallace, Larry Checkon, and Phil Hunt, president of the GVGO for an amazing bunch of seeds for this raffle.
The raffle will start tonite and run for 3 weeks, ending on April 28th. Raffle chances will be sold for $10 for one chance, and $20 for three chances. Please send your check or money order to my father (Rocky Rockwell), who is overseeing this portion of my senior project. The address is:
Rocky Rockwell Roomtoread.org raffle 166 Roosevelt St Sayre, PA 18840
The list of seeds (there will be 11 winners drawn!) are as follows:
1502 Wallace (current world record) 1469 Checkon 1354 Checkon 1347 Wallace 1186 Wallace 1140 Wallace 1110 Wallace 1039 Leonard 977 Wallace 848* Mackenzie 776.6 Hain
Thank you for your time and donations. If you would like to make a straight donation to my Room to Read senior project, they would be greatly accepted in helping this cause! Best of luck with the raffle, and best of luck growing big pumpkins in 2007!

Great idea. Alexandra, let me know if you want to include a 2004 picture of your dad capturing the milk chugging trophy at the PGPGA weigh off in Altoona, as an additional prize I could find it for you.

As of right now, I probably will not be starting my seeds until May 1st, a week later. Outside planting will be in the second week of May, giving me a prayer list for warm nice weather in May and June. Our weather has been so bad here, if I tried to go without soil heating cables, I wouldnt get a soil temp of 60 degrees until June.
Thanks for all your support!
