Plants with many leaves produce bigger pumpkins, preferably smaller leaves, I have heard. I'm trying to find pumpkin plants that often have many leaves, I'm working on next year. Thanks

Start them early in full sun in prepared soil & the plants will be large enough by fruit-set to support the growth. There are no "magic seeds" that produce special traits like those you desire.

There is no magic seed....it is a combination of all the elements. Soil, Sun, Seed, Source of Water, Climate, and a big splash of luck.

Yes, but if someone does have a pumpkin this year with many leaves its off spring might just have that same trait, maybe.

That's valid. The key is to make multiple observations comparing the subject seed to others that are growing in identical conditions at the same site.
Example - we're growing the 1370 Rose, 500 Northrup & 981 Zunino. The 981 has smaller more numerous leaves & much shorter nodes (spaces between leaves) despite growing in the same patch & being started on the same day, etc.
If other 981 growers are noticing the same exact thing then we have a trend in which case you might want to try a 981 next year. If not, then it isn't a trend.
It would take a couple years to confirm that the progeny of the 981 also demonstrate this trend carried over.

I'm confused, your posting below was asking for seeds that produced huge vines and leaves...now you want a seed that will grow you many smaller leaves.....
Our 670 Daigle this year is growing pretty large leaves and has nice thick vines while the other plant grown from our own 577.5 (which had massive leaves) is growing a compact plant with smaller leaves than the 670...go figure.
Then there is my buddy who is growing the 781.5 Frantz and it has lots and lots of smallish leaves and his plants usually have huge leaves cause he grows in a semi-shady spot so his leaves usually get larger than normal looking for sunlight...there is no magic answer at this point.

Hi North Shore Boyz, I left a message (at a different message post, the new one I think) asking for seeds from the plant/pumpkin that has those giant leafs as seen in the picture, I would still like to try your giant leaf seeds, and if I can find a plant that is known for producing many small leafs and giant pumpkins I would like to try and find some of those also. Thanks You

I believe that a plant crammed in a small patch with it's vines close together will have small leaves. If you snip every other side vine, those leaves will get bigger.
