So if the 998 is so good why not the 1231? Or 1225??
998 is 1420 x 1446 1231 is 1446 x 1420 1225 is 1231 x self

Chris, The 1231 did well it's first year out. It could be a very good seed to consider. You could say the same about the 1068 Wallace and the 500 Wallace. Maybe it's the first year's success, that determines which seed gets grown the most. Or maybe the one is really better than the other. One thing to note: If I'm not mistaken, only the 1068 Wallace and the 998 Pukos have produced two pumpkins over 1400 lbs.

the 1225 is awesome as well as the 1231. grew the 1231 last year.growing the 1225 this year.

Unfortunately our 1231 and 1225 didn't get the soil they deserved. 1231 went down to disease and 1225 has a mediocre fruit at best...probably also diseased.
Soil, soil, soil, then other things...then seed...somewhere wayyyy down the line...ha ha.
