Berlin,mi.(zuhlke2@hotmail.com)

my advice is hire security gaurds if they are the seeds you say they are.lol. the 723 is ranked #1 out of 253 for 1000 lb. plus pumpkins. the top 5 average weight of progeny is 1343.06 lbs. the 935 loyd was the mother seed to the 723.

If you really have these two, you should cross each one into the other.

I don't mean to be rude when I say, "If you really have these two...", but it seems that the 723 has been planted twice as many times as there were seeds in that fruit. Do you have any "paper trail" back to where these came from? If they are the real deal then good luck and I hope they germinate for you.

should have mentioned that they are offspring of the 723 and 935 i got them from p&p seeds

Still good seeds Bam. But I believe these were seeds grown from The 723 and the 935. I dont even know if the actual seeds are still around and if they were they would probally cost at least a 1000 a seed.

And that is why I only trade with people that I know.....too many people think that they have something that they simply do not.

Kind of like the $30 1068 plant.

Nice mouth Barny81....not babbling at all...you were the one announcing to everyone on this bulletin board that you recently acquired a 723 Bobier and a 735 Lloyd when in fact you did not (its OK everyone makes mistakes).

Read your own original posting Barny...you were the one mouthing off about having rare seeds...it was not until someone else pointed out the fact that these seeds have been planted many more times than possible, did you fess up to the fact that they are offspring seeds (again everyone makes mistakes).

Then to top it all off, it is guys like you that grow these seeds, mis-represent them to other growers who then might grow them and screw up the entire genetic pool.

So Barny81, I was just simply stating a fact that I only trade with people that I know to try and avoid people like you...very simple.

Now stop your potty mouth and name calling and go back the trailer park with the rest of the Trailer Park Boys and finish off that bottle of Moonshine that you did not finish before you went to work in the cannery this morning.

Maybe if you got off the Island more often you'd know how to play nice with other people Barny.

Hey Mr. Dill's live in Windsor, Novia Scotia, he's like one of the, if not the leader in growing Atlantic Giant Pumpkins, you could probably learn all kinds of stuff with a visit to his growing site.

Sure Barney, we can agree to disagree but I'll just point out that you are showing your obvious lack of education and most likely young and immature age.

Most of us here on this site don't engage in your style of potty mouthed name calling as it is inappropriate for a family oriented website...so smarten up.

If I've used too many big words, please refer to a dictionary for clarification and be careful of that target on your back now too.

I was getting caught up in the drama and I don't think anyone really answered bam 81's question. I have a similar question- I will have 4 723 Bobier OFFSPRING seeds and 4 846 Calai 1999 OFFSPRING seeds. Please notice they are offspring ( I don't want to dance with the NSB lol ). Are these seeds worth trading. thanks , Andy.

Andy,
To answer your question you need to list the exact seed grower yr ect. and it can be looked up in a couple of data bases to see what the progeny of this particular seed looked like and weighed. Some seeds with great parentage never seem to gain popularity or are given up on after just a few hohumm results. Some growers who are looking for particular future crosses may be very interested even though the progeny was not exceptional. Hope this helps you with the question.
John

Thanks John. I'll check into the lineage. The seeds came from P and P. Andy.

Bam81, I think you need to clean it up a little, I for one have a 6 year old how sometime reads the posting with me. I don't think I need to be explaining %$# to her because you want to show everybody how educated you are. Thanks Kenny

Andy my first year growing i used the p&p off springs.
had good results but you can get better seeds just by asking growers after the weigh-off's.

All righty then, After mediating the debate between the Canadians (Fine, Only Bam showed up) We have declared that indeed Bam is just having fun and it "Just might have gotten a bit out of control" So, With his new outlook he has acknowledged his passion for the sport and has promised to be nice to everyone! Now, If the NSB would please quit picking on BAM (lol) we can move along and acknowledge that Bam meant no harm in mixing up his seeds and that the argument should be taken to a private email forum if it is going to continue... I have made up most of this email but remember this is about having a good time and having a good place with good people to help you out when things get rough...

Back to the original question....

I would be wary about placing too much trust into a 723 or 935 descendant. First of all, the 723 is a 935 descendant. Secondly, nearly every seed that we all have in sacks stashed in our basements or freezers is a 723 descendant. Well, I'd quess that 50% of the seeds out there that are available for FREE have the 723 in their background.

No, they're not bad seeds. Grow them out. Are they worth around $30? Not to me they're not. But that's neither here nor there. I guess what I'm saying is that I don't think there is a quantitative difference between these seeds and any one of thousands of seeds that a lot of growers would be thrilled to have you try.

I'm with Kenny my 7 year old son usually reads with me and that language was totaly un-called for. I seen know harm in NSB's original post. I think bam was a little too quick with the trigger finger.

I think if Bam81 and NSB would have first met at a weighoff, they would call each other friends. Too bad it started out this way. Maybe they can start over. Both stick up for themselves. They have that in common. Just my thoughts.

Hi John. I logged on to www.briansinsanity.com and checked the known progeny of the 723 and the 846. Needless to say an impressive list. Suffice it to say that the seeds have good potential to say the least. Thanks again, Andy.
