hi im 16 and im kinda new at this. i planted seed from my last years 183. lol. i had a good one growing this year but it fell to rot at 350 at day 32 which i dont think is bad. but i was hoping that someone would like to help me out and send me some seeds, or at least recommend some kind of organization that sends them out or that sort of thing. I've read all 3 how to grow giant pumpkins books and i know much more now and all i really need is some "good" seed. So thanks very much.

lol i am in the same boat as you as well. i am 17 though. i havent been able to really grow a giant pumpkin because my dads in the military and the house we are currently in has no yard whatsoever. but depending on where u r located in california i've heard that in elk grove they do a growers meeting where i think they might pass out some seeds and just talk giant pumpkins.

Hi Tim,
My son and I are California growers. What part of California are you from? This weekend in Morgan Hill there is a big weigh-off at Uesugi Farm. (14485 Monterey Road in Morgan Hill) It starts at 1pm. You could can make it, you will see a weigh-off and talk to lots of growers. You are welcome to some of our seeds. We have some nice crosses. Also if you would like a variety of seeds just keep checking here at the Seed Exchange and many growers will be offering this years seeds if you send them a bubble envelope with postage attached. E-mail us if you still need seeds. Yes, there is a California Growers Meeting in March in Elk Grove. You can get more seeds than you can grow there for the price of admission. im glad to here someone my age is doing this too. and thank you for telling me about the elk grove meeting. i live around the sacramento region so i would love to go.

Im in the Sacramento region. Although i would love to attend the weighoff i cant this weekend which is too bad. although there is a small weighoff festival sort of thing in Auburn which i plan to go to. I would like to thank you though also for offering your seed. i may have to try some. And thanks for telling me about the california growers meeting. I really want to go this year not just for the seed, but just to meet some fellow california growers and their own strategies for growing and whatnot.

Thanks to all for their kindness and generosity. I now am starting to realize how tremendous giant pumpkin growing is. not just from growing a big one. but from the community and how nice they are.

Tim, I have seeds from this years pumpkins that you are welcome to. I did an 1180 Daletas X 1068 Wallace and 500 Northrup X 1180 Daletas, both of witch I'm growing next year. I have other crosses that you can have as well.
