Almost two months ago I ordered a handful of seeds from P & P. Haven't heard anything yet. I called directory assistance to get the phone # to check the order, no number available. There is no e-mail either. The seeds are older ones, so no drying time required. Just wondering if this is normal, if so I won't panic. Feedback would be appreciated, thanks.

Due to recent laws and USDA regulations being tightened, I would suggest not ordering seeds from outside of the country if possible. Deffinitely not trying to steer customers away from Howard Dill, Ray ,or any other of our Canadian suppliers and friends. But the liklihood of your expensive seeds being opened, destroyed, or sent late due to customs, phyto, and other inspections has increased from previous years passed. I ordered seeds from Howard Dill in 2001 and they came just fine, but there are so many new laws and regulations today because seeds are agricultural products. So the USDA is afraid that new viruses, and pathogens may be transmitted from imported seeds (I study this a lot at school as a plant science major LOL). But I can understand that if you can't find the seeds that you want anywhere else then you have no other choice but to have them imported. I would stick with growers/ suppliers in the U.S. as seed sources if at all possible.
P.S. I was only trying to provide advice to a fellow grower, again this post was not ment to cut into the businesses of Howard Dill, Ray, or any other of the excellant growers in Canada that have so kindly helped both I and everyone else on this website and in the Giant Pumpkin Growing Community.

I ordered some stuff through the years from P&P. Very good service. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Ray's very busy now, lots of field work. He's said he is half done with 13 acres and hopes to catch up on the rainy days. He's for real. Just busy!!

In addition to what Junior said, there is always time for trading at the Niagara Falls convention in March, and some growers often offer to bring seeds back with them (to avoid the mailing laws) for growers in their same country who could not be there.

Junior There should never be a problem getting seeds from the Dill's. They have always arrived with all necessary paperwork which is required by customs.
