I just saw the Lord of the Gords, and I am really enthused about starting a giant pumpkin patch of my own. So, I am wondering how do I go about finding seed. And are there organizations that one can join?

Jennlyn:

Pap has a post under general discussion entitled "Get in Now-Be First in Line". They are a great group and dues are well worth the price of admission.

You can also e-mail me at: jgerchy@columbus.rr.com

First off welcome to the world of growing big.You made the first awesome stop just by coming to this great site. There are tons and tons of nice and great growers on this site more then willing to help you in any way possible. Theres open chat and most growers are on to talk in the evenings. You can post your questions here and of course theres always the clubs. Each state has great clubs or groups that host weigh offs in and around the states and most come with some kind of seed plan to get you started. There's the great books how to grow world class giant pumpkins a very good series of books to read for newbies. Last but not least go to the seed exchange board at the end of this month and say your new and need seed. Start sending out bubblies(bubble envelopes) and before you know it your will be growing these great big giants. Have fun and I really do hope you go big next yr.
