Hay everybody. 2007 was a great year for me, after a real let down in 06. No world record but we're on the way. I have seeds from almost everything I grew this year. Send a self addressed stamped bubble envelope and they're yours. It's always nice if you grew something this year to see a seed or two from that coming my way in the envelope too, but new growers without any seeds of their own to send are more than welcome. PLEASE SEND AT LEAST A VERY BRIEF NOTE IN THE ENVELOPE SAYING WHICH SEEDS YOU WANT, it can even be this page printed out with your desired seeds circled, but envelopes with no notes really throw me for a loop when the piles start getting tall in midwinter and I also have a load of schoolwork to do, and so they may take a lower priority than the rest. Good Luck to everybody making it through the winter, and Thanks for any requests,
AleX Noel

Seeds for this year:
1223.5 Noel 07 (720 Noel 05 (1068 Wallace x 1104.5 Hester) X #9 Beachy Cross 06 (1173 Macari x 805 Pukos))
This pumpkin was medium height, squat looking from the blossom or stem end, and a little short looking from either side. It was exactly on with what it measured and had medium cantelouping on a dark orange skin, medium ribs, and bigger towards the blossom end. Knew my 720 could do it, think it has more, and this seed because of the extremely thick producing father should throw solid fruit.

1054 Noel 07 DMG (reverse cross of 1223.5) PUMPKIN WEIGHED AT 50 DAYS, REACHED ALMOST ENTIRE END WEIGHT BY DAY 45 OR SO, when it split, and had to be weighed. Before the split was imminent it chugged along having huge daily gains. Extremely fast robust plant. Fruit was a block of concrete, 20% over estimates, round shaped with flat top. White, tan, gray, and pink, extreme lumpy cantelouping, fruit looked like a dirty pile of snow. Official weight, though at nonGPC site. If growth continued on a normal track, it would have reached 1600+. Lowest seed count of 3.

903 Noel 07 Squash (848 MacKenzie* X Self) 5 foot wide, 16-18" high pancake. Dark green but with more than medium cantelouping, stem slightly up from front, more on top, but not all the way nearly. Heavy ribbing. 12% over charts, extremely concave bottom so almost no cavity. Plant was neglected in weeds with little water and poor vine management after the end of July.

Giant Corn, Jala Maize. Many different strains, can get over 20' tall, my record is 16' 8". Great for agricultural fairs. Effortless to grow in the 12' plus range. Border for pumpkin patch.

Big Jim Giant Peppers, can get over a foot, my best is 9". Taste fairly good, fine for sauces, dry well, also great for fairs and easy to grow, after seedling stage.

14', 100+ headed sunflower, great to look at, grows by itself, border.

Tennessee dancing/spinning gourds, a gourd I had never heard of, planted one plant this spring, gave me 120 or more perfect 2 inch high gourds which can be used like tops, vine covered 200 sf., couldn't be killed or pruned off.

Thanks Mikkal, hope to see you in Niagara in a few months?

And I forgot one last variety: Giant green podded beans. I remembered them from when I was little, and finally identified then and tracked down some seeds. They have pods which can be over 10" long, 1" wide, and a half thick. Each pod contains several huge beans which are splotched with black and purple. The vines can grow very long and branch out into huge plants, covered with foot long groups of bright red flowers that attract humming birds. If one seed is planted every 1-2 feet in good soil in full sun along a wall covered with wire mesh, the plants will covewr that wall in a thick matt by the end of summer. Limited number only, I only started with 4 seeds, so even with the productivity of these plants there aren't enough to give everyone handfuls.

Woops, I've had a few emails about the 1054. "Lowest seed count of 3" meant it had the lowest count of the three fruits, it had over 200 still, but if I'm going to run out, it will be on that one first, that's all. I'll include one in everybodies envelope anyway, because of the confusion.

Hey Alex, I will be sending a bubble in the next week or so. I would be interested in a couple of seeds from those interesting vegetables. I think my daughters would get a kick out of the dancing gourds and those gaint beans. I could do some real good crafts with my Sparks unit with them.
