Jordan, I would venture to guess that everyone in the pumpkin community wants these seeds. Come on man, you have done this too much. These seeds will most likely bring a minimum of $500 each at the auctions this winter (probably more). You say you will do just about anything.....get a job and earn around $1000 and they can be be yours.

I would like to have them also, but I understand that I will not be able to afford them and I could not ask anyone to give me one. There are plenty of great seeds out there. Grow something with a similar lineage or grow a 998x1068 cross or reverse...there are many out there.

You never learn even with the best seeds...people offer to help you although you choose not to listen. What happened to your 1502 that you begged for.

I would like to go snow skiing with Shania Twain or go on dancing with the stars with Heidi Klum.....but....since those are just fantasies I'll just keep dreaming.

Seriously, Jordan...good for you for wanting the best!! Save your money and bid on them at auction time, I don't think that anyone will throw those seeds your way out of the goodness of thier hearts.

If anyone knows Shania or Heidi, let them know that I would do just about anything to make my dreams come true.

Glenn, I'm right there with you on Heidi. I would also like to take a spin around the floor with Julianne Hough, from Dancing with the Stars. Have you caught her moves yet? WOW

Spending a year race "World of Outlaw" sprint cars would also be on my list.

Jordan good luck with the seeds, if they send you 2 of each will you send the other 2 my way.

Jordan, why just not plant your own seeds. A few nice growers sent you seed last year and now you have good genetics.

I grew up only a few hours from the hometown of Shania Twain if that counts North Shore Boys. Maybe we can use that in a trade for those Hunt seeds ya have access to that i haven't been able to pry out of you yet!

If you run cross country who is going to take care of the patch? He won't even be in town most of the time.

Jordan, you have made a cross between two great growers with lots of genetics behind them. Your 104 could be one great seed if your conditions are right. Save your money to spend on something you don't have and give that cross a try. I know you will be surprised at the end product and there will be many growers contacting you for that seed. We had sent you a bubble for that same reason!!!

Go back and look at your post for the 104 Grimes. You list some incredible background for a seed that you thought "has great potential". I know that I am right and will set up another patch just for growing this seed to show you!

Jordan,

Need to get your soil in shape first. Growing 104 pounds off a 1502 tells me you have a long way to go and a lot more to learn. Save your money because you will waste it, store bought seeds should get you 200 pounds and they only cost 4 bucks.

this has to be the most hijacked seed request i have ever seen. you notice that jordan has not come back with smart talk about all the hijacking of his post. maybe he has matured a little and done a little homework. it doesn't hurt to ask. i see he is looking for a 227 leland also. now i wonder why he would want a seed from a little pumpkin like that? maybe he has done a little home work. if i posted a seed request and it got hijacked like this i would be pissed. i know he's a kid and i know he has pissed some people off, but it is his post and he has a right to ask. you don't have to respond. now i have to think for a second before i hit enter. hmm i feel better know.

Jordab, I relize that one of the draw backs to being youn is lack of money and lack of experence. Concentrate on growing a pumpkin over 500 pounds, then you'll be taken more seriously.(I am in ths same boat, i m old and cant grow a pumpkin over 453)

Instead of asking for a seed in which a lot of people will say no. Ask for a clone of it. I know a lot of growers who make clones for people who cant get the seed. Try this.

I know the feeling of trying to get great seed, and not being able to get it. But once i accepted the fact that i am not known as a great pumpkin grower. I have come to relization and its fine. there are lots of great seed not being planted.

Also are you growing for the genes or just to say oh I have a ___________. I grew a 1502 last yr, because a close and deer friend gave it too me. At first it was oh look what i got, then it became, man this is a Great plant, MUST grow this NEXT yr.

Because of tight finances this yr I wont be sending too many bubbles, but plan on growing great seed from people i know. Todd Barey, Joe Sherber, Winey, Biz, wiz, Vanhook etc. ( and several other chat buddies. But once i get a big pumpkin I will ask for great hard to get seeds. 1750 longmont pete 08. or a Biz/Wiz 1700 08.

I sugest that you growyour own seed and this way you'll save money and get the experence.

I agree with Steve Z here. And I have to start wondering, "Why such heated response?" Jordan's just doing what most of us make the mistake of doing. Many of the people jumping all over Jordan will be the ones hitting the auctions and trading their firt-born for 998's and 1068's this winter, and for what?--a seed that doesn't have much more chance of producing "The Big One" than many crosses made in 07. We all need to start considering those 227 Leland's (grew Starr 1524) and other great genetic crosses and not jump all over a nice kid who represents who we once were (and what most of us 35-50 year-olds are trying to regain as we plow through our mid-life crises)

Jordan--it really does take a leap of faith to plant your own seed, but that's exactly what you should do. I know because I didn't do it in 07 and I watch Rod Raunig kick my butt with may own seed at the Canby weigh off(and I grew the 998.6 and 1446.5). My 998.6 split on me (on it's way to around 1100) and the 1446.5 topped out at 937.5. Rod's pumpkin weighed 1220.5, weighed 20% heavy, and was grown in less than 400 sq. ft. I'm still kicking myself and will never again let a year pass without growing my own seed in my top ground. Just a thought from somebody who learned the hard way. Top genetic crosses really are just as good as famous seeds (and your seed would most likely be famous now if Ron Wallace and Steve Daletas had grown it, in my opinion)
