I have a great idea I would love a 1068 or a 998 but know it probably wont happen. Lets start by listing 5 or more unproven seeds we really would plant. And each person try to list different seeds than someone else has already listed this should help out new growers and anybody else who may have not heard about some pumpkins. I will start. 1445 Marsh 1407 Wolf X 695 Handy 968 Lawrence Carter 1112 Larue X 1139 Sherwood 929 Breznick 1201 Larue X 1334 Daletas 1342.2 Krug 1231 Pukos X 1334 Daletas This is an 05 seed that I think Robert Demers is the only one to try it The 810 Kuhn 898 Knauss X 1370 Rose his pumpkin was 1081 lbs and I recall almost 20 percent heavy. Hope this helps now lets hear from others who have some that they like. Matt Mongeon

Here's three I think could do quite well: 1144 Horton(1314.8 Beauchemin X 735 Pukos) 940 Vincent(845 Bobier X 1180 Delatas) 594.5 Van Hook(955 Brinkley X 998 Pukos)...I'd expect nice orange color on this one.

One seed I like very well & will be planting is the 990.5 Crosby (07). The cross is 1133 Demers ( same cross as 1068 wallace) X 670 Daigle. I like to try to find ( and it's VERY hard) a seed that the female & it's pollinator has almost nothing in common. You have to go back 3 generations on the 990.5 Crosby to find a same seed on the male & female sides & that's the 567 Mombert & it's just one time. Plus I've noticed that the pollinator plays a big role in the color of the seeds offspring, off the top of my head I'm guessing the offspring carries the color of the male 75% of the time.

-104 Grimes `06 (1502 Wallace X 1041.5 LaRue).The grandparents are 1068 Wallace,1354 Checkon,1469 Checkon,1231 Pukos. With the right conditions I feel this seed can grow 1300 to 2000 pound pumpkins.
