how can anyone prove that a seed is from a pumpkin? why do you want a seed from one of those pumpkins? why not the seed that grew those pumpkins

Yeah, me too; I want one of the seeds that GREW Geneva's pumpkin! Are there any around? Actually, I don't really want one; I don't have the set up to take advantage of it. But it would be fun to know where the rest of them are, and how they did/do. So, then we will know if it was just her great technique, if it was all in the genes!

Yo Patience, You can bet that Geneva has it down to a science but the genetics are there. She had three last year over 1100 pounds...Now that's more then Luck! Also Chris seeds are not for sale they are usually auctioned off for a charity event etc.. You'll see plenty of good seeds here come November.

From what I've seen and heard, most seeds have the genetic make up to grow a hugh pumpkin. Genetics play a bid a big part, but the enviroment that the pumpkin is grown is also a big factor. Put a great seed in a poor growing area, and you will not see a 1200 lber. Put a poor seed in a good area and you will still probably not see a 1200 lber. But a good seed in a good area. Now you're talking...

Yo Chris, I grew the 940 mombert(98) and 845 Bobier this year... these grew the 1260lber and 1262lber last year. But my biggest fruit this year is on a 888 mombert(98)(grown on same plant as 940) and second biggest is on 455.4 Andrews. So its not just down to the seed genetics..its down to the growers who can certainly add those extra pounds and the weather. Not many 1000lbers grow 1000lbers, not yet anyway. The heavyhitters seem to know what seed is best.
