Your soil is your greatest advantage. The best seed in the world will not produce a larger than average pumpkin in poor soil conditions.
Get a soil test done by a reputable lab and follow their recommendations or post the results here and I am sure someone will help you decipher them. When sending the samples out, let the lab know you wish to ammend using organic ingredients.
Study up on germination, pollenation and vine pruning.
What I am getting at is that there is no magic bullet. Growing larger than average pumpkins requires a lot of work, strategy, perserverance and more work.

That all being said, I would be happy to send you some seeds with excellent genetic backgrounds and potential to produce a large pumpkin. All you need to do is send a self addressed stamped bubble to me, I will put some good seeds in it and send it back to you.
I can be reached at admin@perrysgreenhouse.com

Best of Luck in 08!!

Great advice Duane...and Joe, I am a proud member of the former KPM...now known as the KGPG...Kentucky Giant Pumpkin Growers...we are a small but growing group of pkn heads in Kentucky...email me at wsmpeace@aol.com and I will do my best to set you up with a few "good" seeds. Several folks on this site claim that the best results come from seeds that did well in your local climate. Hope this helps. Grow em BIG!!! Peace, Wayne
