Hi, I saw a tv spotlight on growing big pumpkins and I thought this was so cool. I would like to try to do this in my small backyard in Stouffville and try up at the cottage north of Bancroft. My son loves gardening, he is 13 and I thought this would be a good project for us since he is at the cottage most of the summer while I'm in town most of the summer. I also have a neighbour who is Italian who loves to grow (he had a terrible accident 20 years ago and can't work) so I know he would love to help me and gives him a sense of purpose. I'm not into the competition but I would love to grow as big as I can, 500 or more would be exciting. I think the neighbourhood kids would get a kick out of it since many don't visit farms and it would be an opportunity for them to experience it as well. So anybody out there that can help me and know where I can get some. Appreciate the help.

Tammy, as V stated, gvgo is an incredible organization. Also check out the seed exchange board on this site, before you know it you will have more opportunities for free seeds you won't be able to keep up. Small cost (bubble envelopes and stamps), but the connections you make might last a lifetime!!! If all else fails send email to wsmpeace@aol.com and I will send a seed pkg. Peace, Wayne
