Hi all,
Just finished some beers, and a thought came to me.
This year I need to grow a "thick and ugly". So long as they it's not too “flat” to make a decent J-O-L with.
You know the type, the salmon colored oblong, Bumps, Dips, Snout, or butt, cantalouped and even a few green and white/grey blotches on her. The last fruit anyone ever gives "prettyest looking" too.
So long as she is sturdy, not too flat, and tend to have thick walls, is all I need.
Does NOT need to be a record, or even 1000+ pounder, but have a very good chance at fruit 500+. If it only hit 400 I will not be dissapointed.
I plan to make a big Jack-O-Lantern this year, and that is likely all she will be used for, however, I am of the school of thought, that even the ugly ones can be turned into awesome JOLs. Sometimes the odd color, and bulges give it a cool look.
So if you got any seeds, that can routinely exceed 500 pounds with decent care, and tend to throw ugly oblong ones( so long as they aren’t total pancakes), and you thought nobody in their right mind would put it in the dirt, then PLEASE let me know where I can send a SASBE to, and I will make a seed that no-one ever thought would get planted, just get its chance.
Again, does not have to be a 1000+ potential, all I am looking for is good 500 potential and on one that most would call UGLY, so long as its not pancake flat (hard to JOL if its flat).

How many beers did you drink? Why would you want to grow an Ugly pumpkin anyway.

Just an idea that came to me. I have always been looking for good ones, and I was not going to start any for 10 more days.

Brooks,
Will she sit still to be carved? Is she salmon colored, or Jaundice orange?
