Go with a squash...better texture and flavor..Buttercup or Kabosha for nutty dry flavor

i am wanting to try to make pumpkin pickles this year. the recipe calls for old-fashined pumpkins. i don't know it squash would work. but i will give it a try. i all ready have some of those planted thanks leanne

My mom makes pumpkin pie with squash. If you want to try pumpkins, I've heard that Sugar Pie and Winter Luxury Pie are good for pies. These are small pumpkins...around 5 lbs.
