This thread probably won't get much response but here it goes. The seeds from my 349 lb greenie are dry & there wasn't many ( appx. 275). I would send some to the site but after I put a few in my bubble's I'm sending to people & keep a handful for myself & a few friends there won't be many left. So if you would like a few just e-mail me & I will give you my address. It was from the Welty 744 & was a nice plant that handled the heat well. Only problem was that the plant was growing so aggressive that I couldn't get a fruit set on the main. The squash I did get was 3' out on the 1st secondary 1' from the stump. It est. at 330 lbs & after setting off the vine for 30 days it stilled weighed heavy at 349.
The upside is it will most likely throw green ( if that's what your looking for)
Just e-mail me if your interested..........Paul

How did the fruit from the 744 look? I grew the 720.5 last year and the fruit were smooth skinned and somewhat marlbled in appearance and pretty much tractor tire shaped. I'm thinking of going green with one next year and am looking for info to help in the decision making process. I have more of the 720.5 and the 744 as well. Thanks, Chris

There's a pic of it in my photo gallery & I think Cros has a pic in his photo gallery to. It looked like a big green gumball, It was the same length in the side to side measurments as it was in the stem to sterm measurments.

Dont forget if you have a green truck it is a nice look when going to the weigh off(Huff likes to match his pumpkins to his truck).I think the key Huff said is it weighed heavy. Most of the pumpkins at our weigh-off went light this year(mine included). If your looking green its a nice pick.

my 744 was a grey, green, white, not soo pretty looking fruit. Nice plant...couldnt get good fruit growth however...tho, it may have been due to the hot weather. I noticed similar results from other squash plants in my area...

I ended up at 494* lbs...30% heavy (120 lbs over charts). It was a solid little fruit, i can tell you that! Seeds should be dry pretty soon....anyone interested, email me.

Hey Huff,

What are you going to do when you buy a purple, white, silver, or black truck? I crossed my 679.5# squash (I must add a new Pa, state record!), with my 673# pumpkin(real orange), from last year. The 679.5# was 16.5% heavy over the charts. What this seed will produce next year, I have no freakin' idea! Either a heavy orange pumpkin, or an "in betweener"! All I know is it's loaded with seeds, that will be available very shortly at BigP!

Go Heavy!

I ended up with a 461.5lb wheel (stem was dirctly beneath and in the center of the pumpkin on the ground) on my 744. It as well went about 100 lbs heavy. It had a nice green color but wasn't too dark. There is a picture of it in the photo gallery section of this webpage i think. The plant also had two other nice fruits on it which were more the typical shape. One of these was crossed with an orange pumpkin and i expect its fruit to be orange. if anyone is interested in seeds let me know.

I meant (the stem was on the ground directly beneath and in the center of the squash)
