I first bought my A.G. pumpkin seeds from Veseys seeds two years ago. The first year I had a 136 pounder. Second year 190 pounder and this year a 140 1/2 pounder and of course several weighing slightly less. Is it ok to keep planting seeds from these same pumpkins and allowing them to cross? Or should I only use seeds from different pumpkins with different backgrounds?

If you're happy with those weights, you can keep planting the seeds from these pumpkins. Store bought AG seeds tend to produce pumpkins under 300-lbs for most people. If you want bigger, you need different seeds, either directly from another grower, or from this web site. -Bryan

My husband is very happy with these weights as they are easier for him to handle...but me I am hooked on growing the "big" one. Guess I shall eat these seeds and plant some from someone else. ((:

Lifting it is definitely something to consider. Once they pass 300 lbs, the furniture dolly won't work anymore. :)
