No, sorry, Jim Beauchemin has alot of seeds with 898 Knauss. He is offering them on the Ag genetics & Breeding postings, his is about 33 down, under Jim-B. I know, if you wanted Jim Beauchemins seeds you would of said so, just trying to help.

Phil,

Good luck in your quest. I heard from a good source two years ago that there was one in Canada somewhere. I've not heard of anyone growing one this season. It would seem that if there was one out there, it would have seen dirt this year.

If you're interested in a 985 Werner x 1524.5 Liggett cross both ways, you're welcome to one.

I think UPS overnight will work for flowers, I am growing one this year, And it will be planted early, as a pollinator, I will send you as many flowers as you need.

I did a remake of the 898 in 2006 the 318 Lovelace. I grew it in 2007 and got a 852.5 that was 8.8% heavy. I have some 318's if you want to try one email me at carlton@skybest.com

Thanks for all the replies guys. I really appreciate all your help. It looks like there's only a couple left & they are being planted this coming season. Too bad, as I was willing to trade 3 or 4 really great seeds for an 898.

I'll check out the NHGPGA auction, but expect it to go for more money than I have.

I might take you up on your offer Eddy. It might be the best way to go. Thanks.

I do have a couple selfed 898's, but the real seed if my goal. Your 318 sounds interesting Sam. I'll will likely email you later if I don't find one. Jim's remake is also an option. Jim, has your 503 grown anything?

I'll email you later Brett. Thanks.

Thanks again guys for all your help. Take care & Happy New Year.

Does anyone know if the 898 has ever been sibbed? I think it would be a shame for such a great seed to slip by without being sibbed at least once.

Thanks to all that posted. The 898 has been located thanks to a dear friend & will be included in the Hunt patch this spring.
