Put up a posting, ask nicely, tell them you are new and need seeds, someone will usually offer you some. You then send a bubble envelope to that person, that person puts seeds in the envelope and sends it back. Also send a thank you note, and enough postage to pay for the envelope to get back to you. 1.60 or so on each envelope.
Or just go thru seed exchange postings, scroll down to where Dec starts or so, contact anybody offering seeds.

Mark, seeds are usually free for the asking. What Randy is referring to is the yearly seed distribution for NY club members. You can find info on joining at nysgpga.com he may still have a set or two of seeds left.

We'll probably be putting on another beginner seminar in Elmira at Bradley Farms this spring. I'm going to shoot for the first Sunday in April, but we'll see how things work out. I'll post details here as we get closer. There is a grower near you (Cortland) who may also be attending.

almost all of the distribution seeds are gone but as andy posted a beginers seminar is a great place to pick up a few tips and get some seeds for free or the seed outlet on this site has good deals on seeds and richard gave good tips on how to request seeds from growers please and thank you go a long way when asking for anything
you can still join the n.y. club dues are $15 and you'll get 3-4 newsletters per year a membership card and i'll do my best to scrape together a few seeds to get you started but note that the distribution has went out and you will only be getting a few seeds from what we've got left (figure 8-10 seeds)

At the Elmira beginners seminar I brought over 200 different seeds to give out for free for the growers who came. You will get a wonderful pick again this year if you plan on attending. Beginner seminars cover some great areas from soil prep, seed selection, plant care, and fruit lifting and weighing. These informational presentations are even good for those who have been growing for a year or two (or more). You never stop learning!

Randy and Deb,
Thanks for all you do! We received our seeds today and have enjoyed looking through our selections for this year. It seems like the packages keep growing larger each year, just like pumpkins!! Thanks for the great work!
