Jim the winners of the pool are getting announced and posted in the next newsletter. The contest was as follows, let me know if you have any other questions
We offered two prizes & it was open to all 2008 GVGO members, not just Ontario members.
1. Biggest pumpkin grown from an Ontario GVGO member's 2007 seed
2. Biggest pumpkin grown from any GVGO member's 2007 seed - They each will receive $250 Can. We are just getting this finished up & will contact the winners next week.
As we have posted previously this year we are changing this up for the 2009 growing season and having one seed which will be available to all paid up members as of May 1/09 and this seed will be the 1156 Hunt and a total of $800 will be paid out to the top 3 heaviest pumpkins grown off this seed in 2009.

The winner of the GVGO Pool last year was Bob Mackenzie. Brant Timm was second & Brandon Timm was third. For full details contact Phil Joynson (email me for his email address if you need it). Phil J. will organize the 2009 pool for all GVGO Members. The results will be posted in the Feb GVGO newsletter.
Brett To qualify for the 2009 GVGO Seed of the Year contest for the biggest pumpkin grown from the 1156 Hunt, you must be a member of the GVGO (only $25 year-GREAT SEED PACK & NEWSLETTERS). All members will receive a 1156 seed in their membership seed pack. The heaviest pumpkin grown in 2009 on the 1156 will win $500, 2nd $200 & 3rd $100. REMEMBER, you must be a member to qualify.

Hi Tree Doctor (Jim?) I posted the winners on the GVGO web site not long after Christmas. I didn't publish a full list of every entry in the February newsletter (out soon). I didn't know if everyone would want their picks or totals released to everybody so if an entry wants to know their final total and placing they can email me directly at pumpkin.pal@hotmail.com I'm going to have the 2009 entry form ready by April (we have to see who's a paid up member) and I'll publish and entry form on the club web site and I'll also have a hand out ready at the club seminar.
