Does anybody know where I can buy a 998.6 Pukos (cheaply) or a way to contact the man himself. fogsurfer313@yahoo.com Looking forward to next year (not that there is anything wrong with this year)

Richard,

The 998's are very hard to get now. Joe is out of seeds and anyone that has them is unlikely to part with them. Auction is your best bet, but they are getting pricey ($4-500??).

The 1231 Pukos is the opposite cross and way under planted. There are lots of those around and should be obtainable.

Alternately there are lots of good 998 offspring out there...I know, I know you don't want to here that...lol.

If you can find someone that is growing a 998 this year, you might be able to get a cutting and make a clone! We will be cloning our 998 plant this fall, but I don't think we can ship across the border.

Good luck with your search

John

I have a 998 that I will cross with the 985 Werner on the 4th....Both outstanding plantZ at this date. You are certainly welcomed for some seedZ. I also hit my 1385 with Male 998 pollen

4-500 is a little out of my price range. 1231 might be a good idea, thanks for the offer.

Or another suggestion look for an 1149Pukos07, it is a 998 Sib. Next best thing to finding a rare seed. Good luck.

These are the same cross as the 998 Pukos, grown in the same year.

Richard, look into these crosses also.
1072 Girard, 905 Colbert, 847 Hunt, 843 Heyne,
and 781 Busquaert. I think these are all the same cross as 998, I'm not 100% sure though. These were all grown in 2005. I read it in a posting from 2007 from Joe Pukos.

Another option you can consider Richard is to find someone who has a 998 this year and make a clone. I have had one request so far for a clone from my 998 and I plan to make several this fall and will try to keep one going myself over winter. Unfortunately, I'm not so sure i can ship live plants to Mn.
