Why is it my trading irks some people? I mean, we ALL collect seed and we ALL give tons of seed away and we ALL trade...and yes, I too have handed out over 400 seed from my efforts.(I didn't say they were worth anything, only that I freely give 'em) Some of the seed you guys gave me I've given back to others. And not all in trades, I have a FREE SEED post that gets me 3-4 e-mails a week. And I honor each one.
I aint' done anything wrong other than being a persistent trader. I like trading; other people get what they want, I get what I want. I am on what Langevin describes as the "quest".
Now who out there doesn't get a rush when there's a bubble in your mailbox? Huh? Who doesn't get a rush when you trade for something different and new? Huh? Who doesn't get a kick out of helping a new grower...remember your first seeds?
And if I have enough seed for 100 years, so what? Since when do I have to explain myself or what I do with pumpkin seed?
So for all of you out there that get irked by my trading...tough. You should try it sometime, might make you loosen up a bit.

I would just like to throw in my two cents worth. I've made several trades with southern and found that he has been more than fair with me. This hobby needs more people like southern in it to level the playing field. I obtained quality seed stock that I would not have been able to obtain on my own. If I do well this year and get a personal best, southern will be a major contributor. As you can tell by this offer he's offering way more than a 801.5 is worth simply to get a deal done. A first class guy in my books.

Southern, I wouldn't get upset. All you've done is ask if anyone would like to trade. If they want to, they can say yes, if they don't, they can either not reply or say no. Sounds to me like you've got some pretty good seeds and may get better. I can't wait to see your diary in the spring and see how you make out. Good luck!

being 100% new to this game 3 monthes ago, southern was one of the first two growers I made contact with he generously sent me seeds with nothing in return but a letter I wrote Explaining how I was a Newbie. he also sent me two pages explaining the lineage of the seed and his email in case I had any questions. Thanks again Kyle Dennis

Interesting post Kyle.

I was going to start a new thread on the new growers forum regarding "bubble mailers finding their way home".

I had a couple in the mail box today, and I felt like a kid on Christmas morn. I'll admit that these were some of my first returned mailers, but it still felt great to have them arrive.
I started to think of the possibilities for the upcomming season.
Good luck on your Quest.
