I would like to cross a plant that is the result of a selfed 935 Lloyd with a plant that is the result of a selfed 865 Mettler. Can anybody help me locate a selfed 865 Mettler? Does one even exist??
e-mail me privately,

The selfed 935 crossed with a selfed 865 is an interesting idea, and one that i have been planning on for quite some time. the plan is to create a more "refined" version of the 723 and 845 bobier seeds. it is something that i have already done this year, with a version of the 846 calai. my 427 was from a 760 patrick (801 stelts x self), and the pollinator was a 476 beachy (876.5 lloyd x self). I plan on giving it a try, and hopefully others do too. the trick lies in finding people willing to try a seed from a 400 pound pumpkin.

Andy,
Tell me about it! There are still seeds from my 440#est. from 2001 available (for free),on this site. This grew an 800.5#est. for me, and an 591# from another grower. My 326.5#er from 2001 grew a 589#er for me this year(with little care), and my 478#er from 2000 grew a 650# u.o.w. in 2001. Call it human nature or WHATEVER! Why sit on potentially good seeds that you have, when you can spend $25 for an unproven seed? Go figure!

I'm planning on growing an 879 Rockwell this season, selfing it and growing the offspring next year. I would cross the offspring with a 703 Smith. That would make a 3rd generation 815 Anderson (697 Ciliberto x 1006 Greer)xa 3rd generation 935 Lloyd, and they were both very green. I think this cross would be like a dark green 815 Checkon with a lot of hybrid vigor, much like a selfed 935xa selfed 865. tom
