The weight of the pumpkin the seeds come from is not a big concern when you are looking to acquire seeds that will grow big pumpkins.

You need to look at the genetics of the seed and that will tell the tale of the seeds potential.

Take for example the 275 Vanhook, which has produced some pretty big ones.

I hope this helps.

Good luck on your seed hunt. If you don't find what your looking for, let me know I have some seeds you can have. (Note: Not from a fruit over 1000lbs)

Fredie, Pumpkin Picker is right, some huge pumpkins have been grown on seeds that weighed less than 1000. I would say a huge percentage of giant pumpkins grown over 1000 were grown on seeds from pumpkins that weighed less than 1000. If you want some seeds with good genetics email me. I will help you out.
