Hi, everybody. I live in upstate NY. We have a yard with 300 square feet of available patch. This year, my son and I grew a 158-pounder using generic Dill's seed, and next year we'd like to step things up. I've read the major books, improved my strategy, received an excellent soil test result, and feel excited for spring.
I'm not chasing a world record, but I'd like some great seeds to wow my son's school next fall. I've requested a few from generous growers here, but my question is this:
Is giantpumpkins.com a decent place for a guy like me to buy a few extra seeds? If not, what do you all recommend?
Thanks in advance. -Dennis

Depends on how much you want to spend? Try pandpseeds.com and seedoutlet.com or http://www.ovgpg.com/page39.html hope you find some good ones.

KPatch...I'm willing to spend a decent amount, so those sites are good recommendations. Many thanks.
FRANK 4: thank you! Emailing now.
(My son's kindergarten cut open the 158-pounder this morning and everyone's been gobsmacked by its size. If that school ever had a 1,000+ pumpkin around, their heads would collectively explode. I did take my son to Cooperstown, this year, and he was duly impressed at the weigh-off.)

Thanks, everybody. It's almost spooky how generous this board is :)
I've emailed those who offered seeds and downloaded my NYSGPGA application. Once more, unto the patch!

The generousity of this group of people is one of the things that drew me in to this obsession. Welcome. I can send seeds as well. Jpwrhse@charter.net

Go for the free seeds. When you join the grower's club, they probably have a seeds package, or some deal that'll reward your patience.
You can spend the "Decent amount" of $ on ferts and supplies. Kevin
