I appreciate the kind words. As far as I know, the 519.5 Veader (2007) is the only cross with the:

Female: 1260.4 Weir (2001)
X
Male: 998.6 Pukos (2005)

The cost to obtain each of those 2 seeds would be too expensive for most growers to do it again.

My daughter & I grew a 1156 pounder off of it in 2008. I gave back-up plants to 2 growers. Despite being transplanted late, one grower got a 1016 off the 519.5 and the other got a 979 off it.

200 of the seeds sold out on howarddill.com. (It was advertised as a "Very rare "heavy" cross".) Also, about 200 more seeds were sent to growers who requested the seed and to various clubs for seed promos and seed distributions.

Perhaps because the pumpkin wasn't 1,000 pounds, the seeds didn't get planted that much. Most people wanted the 1689 that year. (Didn't a seed from a 227 pound pumpkin from Oregon grow a 1524 pounder?)

I checked my suuply and have about 40 seeds left. For anyone that is interested, I will gladly forward a seed or 2.

Veaders the best. I got to talk with him a few years ago in person. He sent my bubble pack back to me with so many seeds... he's a fantastic guy. His enthusiasm rubs off on ya. Thanks Chuck, keep up the good work.
